As the highly anticipated film Sam Bahadur, a biopic on India's first field marshal, Sam Manekshaw, inches closer to its release, Vicky Kaushal has treated fans with an endearing behind-the-scenes moment. The actor, who portrays the iconic military figure, shared a delightful image alongside the captain of the cinematic ship, director Meghna Gulzar.
In the Instagram post, Vicky Kaushal affectionately referred to Meghna Gulzar as “The most bahadur [brave] of us all. MG!” The heartfelt caption was accompanied by a heart emoji, expressing the camaraderie between the lead actor and the director. Notably, Vicky Kaushal credited the photographer of the candid shot, none other than co-star Fatima Sana Shaikh, who essays the role of former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the film.

Responding to the post, Meghna Gulzar expressed her gratitude, writing, “Team Sam Bahadur mera kavach!” [Team Sam Bahadur, my armor].
This biopic is based on the life of Sam Manekshaw whose military career spanned four decades and five wars. He was the first Indian Army officer to be promoted to the rank of Field Marshal and the decisive victory of the Indian Army in the 1971 Indo-Pak war was under his command as Chief of Army Staff. He was awarded the Padma Vibhushan and the Padma Bhushan, the second and third highest civilian awards in India.
Produced by RSVP Movies, the film will hit the theatres on 1st December 2023. The film also stars Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh. Sanya Malhotra will play his wife, Silloo – Manekshaw’s pillar and strength. Fatima Sana Shaikh steps into the shoes of Indira Gandhi, the country’s first female Prime Minister.
