Tiger Shroff scores a record as Baaghi turns out to be Biggest Second film ever for a newcomer

en Bollywood News Tiger Shroff scores a record as Baaghi turns out to be Biggest Second film ever for a newcomer

Now this is a record that we didn't really see coming. At last count, his Baaghi has netted over Rs. 72 crore in two weeks. While this is a huge number by all means and the film is already on its way to surpass the total of Neerja and Kapoor & Sons, here is more. Believe it or not but Baaghi has also fetched Tiger Shroff a record for the highest collections ever for a newcomer in his second film.

Tiger Shroff scores a record as Baaghi turns out to be Biggest Second film ever for a newcomer

"Ever since one can remember, none of the other young stars have collected this much in just their second film. Ranveer Singh [Band Baaja Baaraat], Varun Dhawan [Student of the Year], Arjun Kapoor [Ishaqzaade] and Sidharth Malhotra [Student of the Year] had all started with success under their belt. However, collections of their second film didn't see the kind of high that Tiger has managed with his Baaghi," informs a trade guru.

This can be evident from the fact that after Heropanti, Tiger's Baaghi has already netted Rs. 73 crore and is set to cross Rs. 75 crore comfortably. On the other hand, Ranveer Singh's Ladies v/s Ricky Behl, Varun Dhawan's Main Tera Hero, Arjun Kapoor's Aurangzeb and Sidharth Malhotra's Hasee Toh Phasee (all of which were their second films) had collected much lesser.

While these figures are speaking for themselves, what's all the more interesting is the fact that most of the aforementioned actors have returned with the producers of their debut film. Ranveer [Yash Raj Films], Arjun [Yash Raj Films] and Sidharth [Dharma Productions] were repeated by their banners, though Varun chose to do his second film with Balaji. Meanwhile, Tiger has returned with the same producer [Nadiadwala Grandson] and now they would be reuniting for Baaghi sequel too.

"Yes, it may sound like I am saying it too early but Tiger is indeed red hot in the trade circles today," the trade guru adds. "It is so difficult to gain audience attention today and for the youngster to manage such audience footfalls with his second film itself is remarkable. All he needs to do now is take his next step cautiously. He can't afford to go the Aditya Roy Kapur way who scored a biggie with Aashiqui 2 but despite the talent, has been let down by the likes of Fitoor."

Well, Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan would certainly agree to that.
