Award ceremonies happen every year and there are too many of them. But the Star Screen Awards in 2009 stands out. It was the same ceremony when Ashutosh Gowariker blasted Sajid Khan for making fun of Bollywood fraternity. Ashutosh Gowariker had come on stage to collect the ‘Best Film’ award for his period drama Jodhaa Akbar. He gave a long speech lambasting Sajid for his antics targeting Bollywood. Sajid replied back in the same tone, prompting an ugly war of words.

After this incident, everybody assumed that Ashutosh Gowariker and Sajid Khan must be sworn enemies of each other. But it seems like that might not be the case. In fact, both the actor-filmmakers go back a long way. This was revealed by Sajid today on Twitter. He posted the picture of Ashutosh Gowariker’s marriage reception that was attended by him and his sister, Farah Khan. The caption was, “Haha…1988!Sunita n @TheFarahKhan look like teens @AshGowariker n i r pals since d 80s; I guess our awardwala spat (09) is still talked about.” It remains to be seen if Ashutosh replies to this tweet. That would surely put an end to the eight-year-long speculation about them.

On the film front, Sajid Khan’s last film was 3 years ago – Humshakals. He’s all set to direct Housefull 4, which will release on Diwali 2019. Ashutosh Gowariker made Mohenjo Daro last year and reports state that he’s directing a flick on Gautam Buddha. Earlier this week, Rajesh Mapuskar announced that he’s directing a film on Shillong Chamber Choir, which would be produced by Ashutosh.
