Several prominent figures from the Indian film industry graced the historic Ram Temple Pran Pratishtha ceremony in Ayodhya on Sunday. Among them was Telugu actor Suman.

Suman, visibly moved by the occasion, took the opportunity to express his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. In a brief interaction with ANI, the actor stated, "Congratulations and best wishes to PM Modi and CM Yogi Adityanath.”

He further added, “These two are like Ram and Lakshman and had this temple come up here, I think (it) has been God's doing. He created them to build this temple...This will be the national monument for India."

Besides Suman, Rajinikanth, Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan, Madhuri Dixit Nene, Vicky Kaushal, Katrina Kaif, Ayushmann Khurrana, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Kangana Ranaut, Madhur Bhandarkar and Anupam Kher and filmmaker Rohit Shetty have also arrived at the temple to take part in the grand ceremony.

The temple, which was built on the disputed site where the Babri Masjid once stood, has been a source of contention for decades. The Supreme Court's 2019 verdict awarding the land to Hindus for the construction of a Ram Temple was seen by many as a historic victory for the Hindu community. The 'Pran Pratishtha' of Shri Ram Lalla at Ayodhya Temple was held at 12:30 pm. Vedic rituals for the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya began a week before the main ceremony.
