Taran Adarsh says trolling for Varun Dhawan before Border 2’s release was unfortunate; recalls his interaction with David Dhawan: “He told me, ‘This is a part of our film industry. We have to take it in our stride’. Look at the grace and class of that man. Varun has inherited those qualities”

Nothing succeeds like success and in our industry, nothing silences like success too. That’s exactly what played out with Varun Dhawan ahead of Border 2. He was trolled left, right and centre before the release of the war drama. Post-release, the scenario took a drastic turn. The actor’s entertaining, powerful performance has been immensely loved and earned genuine praise. It was no easy feat – he was battling negativity and also was acting alongside Sunny Deol, who has a powerful aura. Yet Varun doesn’t just hold his own in Border 2; he shines. Trade veteran Taran Adarsh applauded his work and called out the trolls.

Taran Adarsh began by saying, “Look at the trolling that happened. All of them are silent post-release. I wonder why so much negativity was targeted towards Varun? It was very unfortunate. He must be putting up a brave front, but imagine what he must be going through.”

Taran Adarsh revealed, “The day after watching the film, I spoke to David ji (filmmaker and Varun’s father, David Dhawan). I told him ‘Kitni negativity thi (for Varun)’. He just said, ‘This is a part of our film industry. We have to take it in our stride’. That really touched me. As a father, he could have said something extreme. But look at the grace and class of that man. Varun has inherited those qualities. Even he could have gone on and on and complained. Instead, he said, ‘Let Friday come’ and Friday did speak for him.”

Taran Adarsh also took this opportunity to make his displeasure clear on the language used by certain reviewers online while critiquing a film. He said, “Certain YouTubers spoke about the film in such a nasty way. Agreed that they haven’t liked that film, but that doesn’t mean that they should hit below the belt.”
