Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen is all set to grace the screens with her upcoming project titled Taali, a biopic cantered around the life of transgender activist Shree Gauri Sawant. As the trailer for the web series was released last Sunday, fans were left awe-struck by Sushmita's stunning transformation and her heartfelt portrayal of the esteemed transgender activist. However, the most significant triumph for the team emerged from the heartfelt reaction of Shreegauri Sawant after witnessing the powerful trailer.

Sushmita Sen shared her delightful encounter with Shreegauri during an interaction with News18. Sushmita Sen said, “She (Shreegauri Sawant) came to me, blessed me, kissed my forehead and gave me a gift. She told me, ‘I don’t want to watch. Yeh jo kar rahi hai, sahi kar rahi hai. Yeh meri marble chi murti hai (Whatever she is doing, she's doing fine. She is like my marble statue)’,” said the actress, expressing her gratitude for Shreegauri's appreciation and support.

Sushmita Sen also lauded Shreegauri Sawant's resilience and battles, emphasizing that their friendship holds immense value in her life. “If I’m sick, she’s the first person to come with a blessing. If I need something, she’ll make it her business to make that happen. She has love like that. That’s love in action and that’s who she is. I find her very inspirational,” shared Sushmita, highlighting the profound impact of Shreegauri's affectionate and supportive nature.

For the unversed, Sen will be seen essaying the transgender activist Shreegauri Sawant in Taali. The actress made the official announcement of the same in October last year. The biopic will be created by Arjun Singgh Baran and Kartk D Nishandar, helmed by National award-winning director Ravi Jadhav, and produced by Arjun Singgh Baran, Kartik D Nishandar & Afeefa Nadiadwala.
