Supriya Pathak, a veteran actor, found herself embarking on a new cinematic venture when she crossed paths with her co-star, Pankaj Kapur. Little did she anticipate that their onscreen rapport would evolve into a real-life romance, eventually culminating in marriage. Although the film they collaborated on never saw the light of day in theaters, it served as the catalyst that united the two actors. In a recent interview, Supriya candidly expressed her belief that the sole purpose of the film was to bring her and Pankaj together, regardless of its fate in terms of a theatrical release.

During an interview with Twinkle Khanna for her online platform Tweak India, Supriya said, “We were doing a film together, and that film was made only for us to meet, because it never got released. We just hit it off. We both had a lot of backlog and history but we just happened. By the time we finished the film, we confessed to each other and I went my way, and he went his, and then we got back in Mumbai together. That film never saw the light of the day.”

Supriya Pathak shared an intimate revelation about her mother's persistent doubt regarding Pankaj Kapur's commitment to their marriage. Twinkle inquired whether Supriya sought any marital advice from her sister, Ratna Pathak Shah, to which Supriya responded, “Who was going to take that advice? No. Everybody tried but I didn't listen to them. By then, I had come to a point where I didn’t want to listen to anybody. I had quite made up my mind.”

Sharing what her mother Dina had told her, Supriya said, “My mother, till the last few years of her life, still tried changing my mind even after two children. She kept saying ‘he will leave you!' I said, ‘ya, okay, now what’. It has been there for so many years, she kept telling me 'You made a mistake, he will leave you.' I would say, ‘its okay, I will manage’."

Talking about Shahid Kapoor, Supriya stated, “Shahid was the cutest baby I had seen, he was such a lovely child. He was very warm and did not have any defined reactions. When we met, we instantly liked each other.”

Supriya and Pankaj share the joy of parenthood, raising two children as a result of their union. Their daughter, Sanah Kapur, has followed in her parents' footsteps and pursued a career in acting. Additionally, they have a son named Ruhaan. In addition to their own children, Supriya has fostered a warm and amicable relationship with her stepson, Shahid Kapoor. She has openly spoken about the bond they share, highlighting the positive dynamics between them.
