en Bollywood News Sunny Deol on his low attendance in Parliament, “Doesn’t matter as it’s doesn’t affect my work for the constituency”

Sunny Deol opened up on why he is not much inside the Parliament despite being an MP.

Sunny Deol is currently riding high on the success of his latest release Gadar 2. Sequel to the 2001 blockbuster, the movie has reached the rare Rs. 500 Crores Club at the India box office. However, Sunny is not just limited to being an actor. He is also an MP (Member of Parliament) from Gurdaspur constituency for the ruling BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party). His attendance at the Lok Sabha as an MP has been low. This was pointed out to him at his appearance at the show Aap Ki Adalat.

Sunny says that it doesn’t matter of his attendance is low in the assembly. “My attendance is really low, and I don’t say that this is a good thing but when I came into politics, I realised this is not my world. But I am working for my constituency, and I will keep doing that. It doesn’t matter if I go to parliament or not, that doesn’t affect my work for my constituency. Also, I face problems when I go to the parliament. There is security and then there was COVID. As an actor wherever you go, people surround you. I have a list of the work I’ve done for my constituency, but I am not among those who promote their work. As for politics, yes it is a profession that I don’t fit in,” he said.

Sunny became an MP after he won in the 2019 general elections. When the actor was asked by the host Rajat Sharma whether he will contest the election again in 2024 general polls, he answered in the negative. Sunny was then asked if he will stand for polls if Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked him to. He answered, “Modi ji also knows that this boy Sunny is doing service for the country through his films, so he should continue doing that.”

On the work front, Sunny will next be seen in the film Baap alongside, Sanjay Dutt, Mithun Chakraborty and Jackie Shroff.
