Sunita Ahuja grabbed headlines after her recent appearance on a comedy reality show, where she seemed to take a subtle dig at husband the widely discussed 2024 gunshot incident of Govinda at his residence. The episode also marked a notable moment as she shared the stage with Krushna Abhishek and his wife Kashmera Shah, further confirming the end to their long-standing family differences.
During the show, Sunita was seen dancing to Govinda’s iconic track ‘Akhiyon Se Goli Maare’, recreating the actor’s signature style. However, what caught everyone’s attention was her comment during a light-hearted exchange. “Kashmera, I want to tell you one thing, the man who respects his wife is a real hero. Jo ankhiyon se goli maarta hai, aur jab third party aa jaati hai toh ghutno pe goli maare (The one who shoots through his eyes is romantic, but when a third person enters, he ends up getting shot in the knees),” she said, drawing laughter as well as raising eyebrows.
For context, Govinda had suffered an accidental gunshot injury at his Mumbai residence in October 2024. His manager, Shashi Sinha, had earlier clarified that the incident occurred when the actor’s licensed revolver slipped from his hand while he was placing it inside a cupboard, causing it to discharge and injure his leg.
Sunita’s remarks didn’t end there. In another moment from the show, when Krushna picked a Nia Sharma instead of Kashmera, she quipped, “It’s their habit, that’s why they deserve to be shot. Here, I didn’t even shoot, yet I don’t know how it happened.” The comment, though delivered in a humorous setting, has further fuelled ongoing speculation about trouble in her marriage.
For the past few years, Sunita Ahuja and Govinda’s relationship has frequently been under public scrutiny. Sunita has previously stated in interviews that the two have been living separately and has also hinted at alleged issues in their marriage. Adding to the rumours, the name of a woman named Komal had surfaced in media reports. Govinda, however, had addressed the speculation, denying any such claims and even praising Komal for maintaining silence despite being dragged into the controversy.
