Abhishek Banerjee is set to reprise his beloved role as Jana in the much-awaited sequel, Stree 2. The trailer for the film has just been released, and it seems the makers are setting the stage for what promises to be a thrilling continuation of the hit franchise. As for Jana’s character, with his quirky sense of humour, the character instantly resonated with the audience and became a popular household name. Now fans couldn’t be more excited to watch him on screen and adding to the anticipation, the actor recently opened up about his role in the film.

Stree holds a special place in Abhishek Banerjee's heart as it marked his first commercial success and recognition in a significant role. Reflecting on this milestone, Abhishek said, "I am excited to reprise my role as Jana in Stree 2 alongside some of the industry's finest talents. This character has a special bond with the audiences, and I am committed to delivering my best once again. The love I get for the character even today, especially amongst kids is truly endearing”. It is also interesting as to how his character has emerged as the common linking bridge for the horror universe of Amar Kaushik and Dinesh Vijan, with Stree, Bhediya, and Munjya.

About Stree 2

Stree 2 stars Shraddha Kapoor as the leading lady along with Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurana, and Pankaj Tripathi taking over the roles of Vicky, Bittu, and Rudra. Directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Maddock Films, the film will be releasing on the occasion of Independence Day, on August 15. Interestingly, the horror comedy is clashing with another film of Banerjee titled Vedaa starring John Abraham, Sharvari Wagh, and Tamannaah Bhatia along with Akshay Kumar, Taapsee Pannu, Vaani Kapoor’s multi-starrer Khel Khel Mein.
