Rumours about a possible romance between Malaika Arora and Sorab Bedi recently spread on social media after pictures and videos of the two enjoying a party together surfaced online. The speculation intensified after Sorab shared photos from the night on Instagram, which he later deleted.
Responding to the buzz, Sorab clarified that the two share only a friendship and explained how they first met. He told Times Now, “Delnaz Daruwala and Vahbiz Mehta gave me a chance to walk the ramp during my modelling days. I became friends with them and started going out for parties. At one of the parties, I met Malaika (Arora) through my mentors. She is also a close friend of Delnaz and Vahbiz. Hence, Malaika and I became friends. There is nothing between us.”
Sorab also said he was disappointed by the way people interpreted the viral pictures and video. “People are talking several things about us. They should think twice before speaking about a girl. It could affect her mental state. Aisa karna nahin chahiye. (They shouldn't do it). I didn't party with them for the first time. I have been partying with Vahbiz, Delnaz and Malaika for many years. I earlier used to share pictures with Malaika, but at that time, I was not a known face. Now, I am a known face; hence, it is now being noticed by people. I have shared such videos and photos before as well. Two people can be friends. We trust each other, but people took it differently.”
Earlier this week, several pictures and videos of Malaika dancing and spending time with Sorab surfaced online. Sorab had attended a party at Malaika’s restaurant in Juhu and later shared glimpses from the celebration on Instagram. Sharing the images, he wrote, “Congratulations @malaikaaroraofficial for @sweeneybombay (sic).”
In one image, Malaika is seen posing with Sorab, while another short clip shows the two dancing together, sparking curiosity among social media users about their relationship.
Malaika was previously married to Arbaaz Khan. The couple were together for about two decades before separating and officially divorcing in 2017. They share a son, Arhaan.
She later began dating Arjun Kapoor in 2016. It only recently became clear that the two had parted ways after being in a relationship for several years.
Meanwhile, Sorab was earlier linked with Niharika Tiwari.
