JioHotstar’s latest family drama Sangamarmar has begun streaming, marking Rajshri Productions’ foray into another relationship-centric story for the digital audience. Presented by Jio Studios and produced by Rajshri Productions, the series is directed by Vikram Ghai, with new episodes scheduled to drop every Thursday.
Positioned as a multi-generational narrative about love, family bonds and life-altering choices, Sangamarmar centres on emotional dynamics rather than spectacle. The show features Sheen Savita Dass and Sourabh Raaj Jain in key roles, supported by an ensemble cast that includes Smita Bansal, Khalid Siddiqui, Farooq Saeed, Swati Tarar, Jaya Ojha and Avinash Wadhwani.
With this series, Rajshri Productions continues to explore themes that have long been associated with its storytelling approach. The banner, founded decades ago, has built its identity around family-oriented narratives across cinema and television. Speaking about how the company’s history influences its creative decisions, filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya said, “Legacy plays a huge part in every story that we choose to tell at Rajshri. It’s an almost 80-year-old institution – Rajshri Productions. While we plan where we are headed to, in terms of storytelling; we never let ourselves forget where we come from. Family stories are our legacy, and we will always do them proudly in films, on television, on the web – everywhere!”
Sangamarmar extends that philosophy into the streaming space. The series focuses on generational perspectives, everyday disagreements and the emotional resilience that often defines family life. Rather than relying on dramatic twists, the narrative aims to explore how relationships evolve over time and how personal decisions impact multiple members within a household.
Over the years, Sooraj Barjatya’s work with Rajshri Productions has been associated with value-driven, relationship-based narratives. His films have typically highlighted tradition, emotional bonds and interpersonal dynamics, elements that appear to continue in this new venture.
Now available on JioHotstar, Sangamarmar adds to the growing list of family dramas on OTT platforms. With weekly episode drops, the show seeks to engage viewers who gravitate towards stories rooted in everyday relationships and shared experiences.
