Bollywood actor and humanitarian Sonu Sood was honoured with the Miss World Humanitarian Award. He dedicated the recognition to countless unsung heroes — including mothers who pray for their children, students who pursue education despite financial struggles, and determined migrants who journeyed miles on foot.

Sonu Sood posted on Instagram, sharing several photos of himself being honoured by actor Rana Daggubatti and holding the award.

He captioned the post, “This award belongs to every mother who prayed for a bus to take her child home, to every student who couldn’t afford education but never gave up dreaming, and to every migrant who walked miles yet never lost faith. Grateful and humbled to receive the Miss World Humanitarian Award. This is for every heart that cares.”

Sonu gained recognition for his humanitarian efforts, particularly throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

In July 2016, Sonu founded Shakti Sagar Productions, a production company named in honor of his father, Shakti Sagar Sood. In September 2020, he received the ‘SDG Special Humanitarian Action Award’ from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in recognition of his humanitarian efforts. Later, in June 2022, he launched his own social media platform called Explurger.

Through his Sood Charity Foundation, the actor launched the Sonu Sood Scholarship to support students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. According to reports, the scheme offers financial support to economically disadvantaged students in India, enabling them to pursue higher education without facing monetary obstacles.

On the work front, the actor recently appeared in Fateh, an action thriller that he both wrote and directed. The film also featured Naseeruddin Shah, Jacqueline Fernandez, Vijay Raaz, and Dibyendu Bhattacharya. The story centred on Fateh, a former agent who leaves his peaceful life behind to take down a cyber mafia syndicate after a local girl becomes a victim and disappears.
