Sonam Kapoor Ahuja reads for a cause

The actress uploaded a video on Instagram in which she read out chapters of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's novella, The Little Prince. With schools closing down, Kapoor-Ahuja's reading on the internet is an ingenuine move by the organisers of the initiative to keep the kids engrossed in learning, amid the COVID-19 scare.

The caption of the said post reads, "I love reading and one of my favourite books growing up was The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. Finding out about friendships, love and loss, a young Prince explores galaxies in space. I'm extremely glad to be a part of the 'Time Well Shared' initiative by @iwcwatches who is partnering with @savethechildren where I got the opportunity to do a reading of this magnificent book. @iwcwatchesarabia @iwcwatches @iwcwatches_india"

As part of 'Time Well Shared', IWC brand ambassadors from around the world including Sonam, read chapters from the renowned classic. The Indian actress kicked off the reading series and was joined by Lebanese-British TV presenter, Raya Abirached, Tunisian actress, Hend Sabri and Italian actor, Pierfrancesco Favino. The idea was to inspire people and lift spirits in the precarious time we're all trying to survive. The initiative also includes contributions from IWC brand ambassadors and other entities. The voluntary donations from the listeners will be used to support the charity programs of 'Save the Children' that aims to protect children and families affected by the virus.

"With The Little Prince, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry created a story that stands the test of time. Charmingly, the book explores what makes us human, and its message is more relevant today than ever. With our reading project, we want to touch people all over the world and bring joy to children and their parents alike,” says Franziska Gsell, CMO of IWC Schaffhausen.
