Sonam Kapoor Ahuja is not in a hurry to lose pregnancy weight; says, she wants to breastfeed her kid for a year : Bollywood News

Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Anand Ahuja, who tied the knot in May 2018, recently welcomed their first child Vayu. The actress, who is yet to return to B-town, opened up about being a mother. She also asserted that she is taking her time to lose weight and is in no hurry since she wants to breastfeed her son for another year. In the same breath, the actress also opened up about how she has become comfortable in her own skin and how she manages to keep up her confidence and accept her body the way it is.

In an interview with Grazia India, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja confessed that even though she is not exercising, she is following a healthy lifestyle so that she has enough energy and sleep that will help her breastfeed her baby. She said, "I’m not back to what I used to be and I’m not even pushing myself – I’m still breastfeeding, and I hope to continue for at least a year. Your body needs the food, rest, and energy while you’re doing that. I’m not on any crazy diet, I’m exercising – I exercised through my pregnancy – and being healthy. I took care of myself through my pregnancy and I’m going to continue doing that and not check the scales.”

Sonam Kapoor also opened up about the kind of arrangements she does before joining a shoot or attending an event. She continued, “You look at yourself in all these videos which are super unflattering and taken on the phone – and you’re wondering to yourself – ‘am I really looking like that’? I’m not scared of anything in that sense, ageing or anything else – but I just don’t feel like myself. If I’m shooting, I send my measurements in advance – I don’t want to come back feeling like I’m not fitting into these tiny clothes – it plays a huge havoc on your self-confidence, to try and fit into things you would have fit into five or 10 years ago."

While Sonam Kapoor Ahuja has not made a big screen appearance post motherhood, the actress recently attended events like the Dior Fashion Show, and the grand inauguration ceremony of Nita Mukesh Ambani Culture Centre in Mumbai.
