Sonakshi Sinha is turning heads with her performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's new Netflix series, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. The show boasts a star-studded cast of leading ladies including Manisha Koirala, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Sharmin Segal, and Richa Chadha. This marks a significant milestone for Sinha, who rose to fame opposite Salman Khan in the blockbuster Dabangg (2010) 14 years ago.

Sonakshi Sinha has worked hard to avoid being typecast in specific roles since her debut. She emphasized her commitment to always improving and adding new life to her performances, aspiring to be the type of performer filmmakers can trust with any character. Sonakshi told IANS in a recent conversation, “An actor’s responsibility is to continually explore diverse roles and infuse innovation into their work. I believe I’ve been doing just that since my first solo film Akira, and I consistently aim to maintain this approach.”

She expressed, “I aim to be the kind of actor that filmmakers feel confident casting in any role. This has been my goal from the beginning, and I believe I’ve been successful in achieving it. I’ve had the opportunity to portray a wide range of characters, including many strong female roles, which brings me great satisfaction.”

The actress describes her 14-year career in Hindi cinema as the “best journey ever”. “I have worked with all sorts of filmmakers. I have done many genres of films. I kind of have just explored things as and when they have come to me, and I have enjoyed it. Till today, any project I start, I treat it as my first film, and I think that is what keeps me engaged in the process,” she said.

Sonakshi, the daughter of seasoned actor Shartughan Sinha, has acted in movies such as Holiday, Mission Mangal, Akira, Kalank, Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai Dobaara, Rowdy Rathore, and Boss.
