Not too long ago we had reported that Vivek Oberoi has decided to enter the South film industry with a bang. He is not only making his Malayalam debut alongside Mohanlal in Lucifer but he is also making his Kannada debut with Rustum. The film will feature the actor in the role of a cop and we got a glimpse of the same recently.
Here are a few pictures from the sets of Rustum where we see Vivek Oberoi dressed as a police officer. The first look of the film’s leading man Shivarajkumar was released earlier this year. Now, we also got a sneak peek into the look that Vivek is sporting and we hear that he is eagerly looking forward to play this role in the Sandalwood film which went on floor recently.
Sources close to the actor said, “While Vivek Anand Oberoi has managed to pull off grey characters with élan, be it Maya bhai from Shootout At Lokhandwala, gangster-turned-politician Pratap Ravi in Rakht Charitra or the evil Kaal in Krrish 3, the actor is quite excited to play a cop in his Kannada debut, Rustum.”
It is also being said that Rustum is being made on a high budget. Interestingly, Vivek Oberoi has donned the uniform more than a decade after he was last seen sporting the police uniform in Dum that released in 2003. The film also stars Mahendra, Shatru, Shraddha Srinath, Mayuri, Rachita Ram, and Harish Uthanam in prominent roles. If reports are to be believed, debutant Arjun Gowda is expected to play the role of an antagonist.
Produced by Jayanna, Rustum marks the foray of choreographer Ravi Varma into direction. Reports suggest that the makers are keen on wrapping up the film by the end of this year. However, an official announcement about the same is yet to be made.
