Sidharth Malhotra, who himself has essayed the role of a Kargil soldier in his 2021 film Shershaah, recently took to social media to share a video that commemorates and pays tribute to the immense sacrifice made by Indian soldiers in the war. The actor took to the platform to share a video as well as a message that dedicated to 25 years of the war on Kargil Vijay Diwas, which is on July 26.

Sidharth Malhotra celebrates Kargil Vijay Diwas with a special post

Readers would be recall that Sidharth Malhotra essayed the role of late Major and Kargil War soldier Vikram Batra in the 2021 film. On Friday, as the country came together to celebrate the victory of India as well as pay tribute to the soldiers, who sacrificed their lives in guarding India and its citizens, Sidharth Malhotra too decided to join in by sharing a video highlighting the events of the war. The video posted by him on his Instagram feed featured several montages from the war, celebrating the Tiranga aka the Indian National Flag.

Sidharth captioned the video saying, “On Kargil Vijay Diwas, I honour the brave heroes who gave their lives for our country. Their bravery inspires us every day. Jai Hind! ???? #25YearsOfKargilVijay”. In the video, Sidharth is seen honoring the ‘’sacrifices’ and the ‘indominable spirit’ of Indian soldiers wherein he also highlighted the bravery of Major Vikram Batra, who played a key role in the war.

Sidharth Malhotra shares a close bond with Vikram Batra’s family

Sidharth Malhotra underwent extensive prep and research for his role in Shershaah including spending a lot of time with Vikram Batra’s family. The latter also attended the wedding of Sidharth and Kiara in 2023. In fact, the actor had opened up about his emotional connect with the film and had mentioned how he had learnt about the immense sacrifices and courage of our Indian soldiers during its filming and hence, he has showcased his respect and honored the works of Indian soldiers during several occasions in the past too.
