SHOCKING: Tinnu Anand reveals that Madhuri Dixit agreed to shoot a scene in a bra for Amitabh Bachchan’s Shanakht but then backed out: “I told her, ‘Pack up. Say goodbye to the film’”

Amitabh Bachchan and Madhuri Dixit were ruling the silver screen at one point. Sadly, they never shared screen space all these years. The only film for which they shot together was Shanakht but it got shelved. Some days back, Radio Nasha held a session with actor-director Tinnu Anand wherein he revealed fascinating trivia about the film, which also starred Rajinikanth, and a lot more.

SHOCKING: Tinnu Anand reveals that Madhuri Dixit agreed to shoot a scene in a bra for Amitabh Bachchan’s Shanakht but then backed out: “I told her, ‘Pack up. Say goodbye to the film’”

Tinnu Anand told the host, RJ Divya Solgama, “Everyone had an interesting role. I gave advances to Mr Bachchan, Madhuri and Rajinikanth. I even shot 5 days in a railway carriage. The scene was of Amitabh trying to protect Madhuri. But he gets overpowered and gets tied up in chains by the villain. At this, Madhuri says, ‘Why are you attacking a man who is unarmed when a woman is standing in front of you?’. I narrated the entire scene to Madhuri and told her that she had to remove her blouse. I said, ‘For the first time, we should see you in your bra. I am not going to hide you in a haystack or anything’. She agreed. I also said, ‘You can design your bra the way you want. I don’t mind. But it has to be a bra as you are offering yourself’.”

Tinnu Anand continued, “On the day of shooting, I called her. She didn’t come. After waiting for 30-45 minutes, I went to her make-up room and she was sitting in the same dress in which she had arrived. I asked her ‘What happened?’. She replied, ‘Tinnu, I don’t want to do this particular scene’. I said, ‘I am sorry. You have to do the scene’. She didn’t relent. I told her, ‘Pack up. Say goodbye to the film’.”

Tinnu further said, “Amitabh came and asked about the shot. I said, ‘Kya shot? Pack up ho gaya hai’ (laughs)! I narrated to him what happened. He told me, ‘Maan jaa yaar’ and added that she must be having an objection. I retorted, ‘Objection pehle hota hai before signing the film. I am such an open director that I told her about the scene in advance’.”

Tinnu Anand revealed, “Then Rikku Rakesh Nath, Madhuri’s secretary, came in. He assured me that ‘Aa jaayegi woh. Jo chahiye, wohi hoga’. I told Amitabh, ‘Good news. Madhuri is still in the film’ (laughs)!”

Tinnu Anand, however, didn’t reveal why Shanakht was shelved.
