Bollywood actress Shefali Shah in a recent candid conversation with The Indian Express, shed light on her experiences with the hierarchy that sometimes exists on film sets. Known for her bold and captivating portrayals on screen, Shefali Shah expressed her admiration for the collaborative and respectful individuals she has worked with in the film industry. While she acknowledged that she had encountered the occasional offensive behaviour from a director or actor, she emphasized that such instances were rare.

Speaking about her encounters with hierarchy on film sets, Shefali Shah noted that although she had occasionally encountered offensive behaviour from a director or actor, the majority of her colleagues were respectful and considerate. With a chuckle, she light-heartedly mentioned that she would never play the role of Akshay Kumar’s on-screen mother again after doing that in Waqt: The Race Against Time, which was directed by her husband Vipul Shah.

She said, “Honestly, I will tell you, I have had the pleasure of working with incredible people and I am not saying it because it is politically correct. I mean it. I had probably worked with one director or one actor, who were extremely offensive. Besides that, I have worked with directors who think actors are not just actors, they are collaborators.” Shefali then laughed and said, “I promise I will never play Akshay Kumar’s mother ever again in my life.”

Shah is presently preparing for the premiere of her forthcoming movie Three Of Us, under the direction of Avinash Arun Dhaware. The cast also includes Jaideep Ahlawat, Swanand Kirkire, and Kadambari Kadam in pivotal roles. Three Of Us is set to grace the big screen on November 3, 2023.
