Veteran actress Sharmila Tagore has turned a year older today, that is December 8. While netizens have flooded the internet with wishes for Tgaore, she spoke about her career spanning more than six decades in a recent interview. Interestingly, Tagore also revisited the sets of Milan Ki Raat and shared a behind-the-scenes story.

During an interaction with Zoom, Sharmila spoke about a sequence of the film where she had to cry and she ended up laughing on screen. She asserted, “That was a ridiculous scene in Dulal Guha's Milan Ki Raat,” and further added, “I had to fall at the bedside and weep. I shouldn't have spoken about it. Sanjeev Kumar taught me to be convincing in whatever I did.”

The Aradhana actress continued, He'd say, 'Don't argue. Just say your lines, I've to go home.” She concluded it by saying, “I haven't seen Milan Ki Raat on television or anywhere. So many of our films have not been kept properly."

In addition to this, the two-time National award-winning actress also spoke about being the first Indian actress to don a bikini. She said, “That was so frowned upon during my time. Now it has become a cult thing. It’s still considered a big deal. The Indian mindset has not changed.”

Speaking of the professional front, the 78-year-old actress was last seen in Gulmohar, which also marked her OTT debut. The film was directly released on Disney+ Hotstar. Directed by Rahul V. Chittella, it also stars Manoj Bajpayee.
