The Kashmir Files directed by Vivek Agnihotri has taken the box-office by storm. The film which opened to limited screens on March 11 with minimal promotions is doing exceptionally well due to the word-of-mouth publicity it has been receiving. The film that narrates the story of the exodus of the Kashmiri Pandits during the Kashmir Insurgency stars Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Darshan Kumaar, Pallavi Joshi, among others. Several artists from the film industry have also praised the film.

Actor Shailesh Lodha of the Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah fame, too, has reacted to the film. Recently, he was snapped by the paparazzi after he stepped out from the theatres after watching The Kashmir Files. The actor who was visibly emotional after the film said he was left speechless. "I won't be able to say anything. Ye film nahin andolan hai (It's not a film, it's a Movement),” he told the paparazzi.

The Kashmir Files crossed Rs. 100 crores in a week of its release in the theatres. Despite competition from films like Radhe Shaym and Bachchhan Paandey. The Kashmir Files stands strong in theatres and is all set to cross Rs. 200 crores at the end of week 2.
