Shailesh Lodha aka Taarak Mehta of TMKOC opens up winning his case against producer Asit Modi; confirms receiving his dues : Bollywood News

Among many actors from the sets of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmaah, who have voiced their concerns against producer Asit Modi, Shailesh Lodha was one of the first actors to have filed a lawsuit due to non-clearance of his dues. The actor, who essayed the titular character of Taarak Mehta, worked with the show for 14 years and quit the same in April 2022. Post that, he approached the NCLT (National Company Law Tribute) to help him and has now expressed gratitude after they ruled in his favor.

As per recent reports, Shailesh Lodha is expected to have won the case in May after the NCLT held a hearing under section 9 of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code. Shailesh had alleged that Asit Modi and others did not clear his dues after he quit Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmaah. Speaking about now receiving the payment of dues after they ruled in his favour, Shailesh Lodha said ETimes, “This fight was never about the money. It was about seeking justice and self-respect. I feel like I have won a battle a I feel like I have won a battle and I’m happy that the truth has prevailed”.

While earlier Lodha maintained silence on his exit and did not open up much about the reason behind his exit, he recently added, “He wanted me to sign some papers to clear my dues. They had certain clauses like you cannot talk to the media and other things. I didn’t bow down to the arm-twisting. Why would I sign any papers to get my own money?” On the other hand, Asit Modi has not reacted to this statement.

Shailesh went on to recall another incident where his friend too got his dues cleared after he approached the NCLT. “One of the actors, who I don’t want to name, wasn’t paid for over three years. After I filed the suit, he was called by the production house and was paid his dues. He called to thank me for it,” stated the artist.

Besides Shailesh, Jennifer Mistry, in the past, has accused Asit Modi and other producers of the show harassing her.
