Shah Rukh Khan says that he is the brand ambassador for women

There have been many actresses like Anushka Sharma and Deepika Padukone who have debuted opposite superstar Shah Rukh Khan. When the star cast of Dear Zindagi was announced, there were several speculations about the age gap between the 50 plus superstar as well as his 23 year old co-star (Alia Bhatt).

Of late, the actor who has done many films with younger and popular co-stars was questioned about how Alia Bhatt hogged the limelight in Dear Zindagi. The film which traces the journey of a confused 20 something girl has Shah Rukh Khan playing the role of a therapist. But this is not the first time where the superstar has stepped down and let the girl take the lead. Before this he has done films like Chak De India and even in Chennai Express, Deepika walked away with praises for her role as Meenamma.

Reportedly, when Shah Rukh Khan was asked if he was the brand ambassador of young girls, the witty actor replied that he is the brand ambassador for women in general and that he is proud of it. He added that women are an integral part of his film and would like to retain it that way where he would like the lady to play an important part. He further mentioned that this is his way of keeping a woman in the centre of a plot.

Shah Rukh Khan has never shied away from expressing his respect towards women. The actor had a few months ago spoken about a beautiful poem ‘fight like a girl’ on women empowerment during a lecture session during the launch of a book that was about inspiring women achievers. In fact, Shah Rukh Khan also started the trend of adding the name of the leading lady before his name during the title credits in a film.
