Shah Rukh Khan has added his voice to the growing praise for Homebound, calling the film “gentle, honest and soulful” in a post that quickly caught the attention of fans and industry watchers alike.
Taking to X on December 10, the actor wrote, “#Homebound is gentle, honest and soulful. Lots of love and big hugs to the phenomenal team for creating something so human and engaging. You have won hearts world over by making something truly special!” The message, brief but warm, stood out for its emphasis on the film’s emotional core rather than spectacle.
SRK’s words sparked an immediate response online, with fans echoing his sentiment. One user commented, “Couldn't have said it better. #Homebound radiates sincerity and soul. Hats off to the creators for crafting something so special.” Another reaction read, “SRK saying ‘gentle & soulful’ is basically the highest IMDb rating ever. Homebound has been drawing attention well beyond social media. The film has been selected as India’s official entry for the Oscars 2026 in the Best International Feature Film category by the Film Federation of India (FFI), marking a significant milestone for the team. Produced by Dharma Productions, the film stars Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa and Janhvi Kapoor, and is directed by Neeraj Ghaywan.
Reacting to the Oscars announcement earlier, producer Karan Johar had shared, “We are deeply honoured and humbled that Homebound has been selected as India’s official entry to the Academy Awards. Neeraj Ghaywan’s labour of love is sure to find a home in a million hearts across the world.” The film is currently streaming on Netflix, allowing global audiences to engage with it as awards-season conversations build.
On the professional front, Shah Rukh Khan was last seen in 2023’s Dunki, following which he made a cameo appearance in The Ba***ds Of Bollywood, the directorial debut of his son Aryan Khan. He will next be seen in King, directed by Siddharth Anand, which is currently under production.
