Sayani Gupta is receiving positive response for her latest series Glory, which recently premiered on Netflix. The actress essays the role of Joyna Hazarika, an investigative journalist navigating a complex murder case, and her performance has been noted for its authenticity, particularly in portraying an Assamese character.
Amid the show’s release, Sayani took to social media to share behind-the-scenes moments from the shoot, offering a glimpse into her experience on set. The images included interactions with co-stars such as Divyendu Sharma, as well as creators Karan Anshman and Mohit, along with moments from wrap celebrations and look tests.
In a detailed note, the actress reflected on her long-standing association with the creators and the challenges she faced while juggling multiple commitments. “I've know Karan and Mohit for over a decade. Had worked on Indie Edge and Baar Baar Dekho.. a fun film and 3 seasons of such a highly loved show even to date. To see them create @atomicfilmsin and then create #glory for @netflix in is a matter of immense pride. Karan told me 3 years ago that he was writing something for me. When I did finally read the script I was so grateful. Glory shoot finally got scheduled on dates that I was going to shoot @aasmanithefilm. For two whole weeks we tried figuring out the dates. much to everyone's anxieties."
She further elaborated on how the scheduling conflict was eventually resolved. “@nishant_pandey0612 Arif @operationfail @hindol_deb and I finally figured it out. I was scared I may lose out on this beautiful collaboration that I was so grateful for. Not everyday you get to collaborate with friends you love. Most photos are when I had to travel 4 hours at 3 in the morning to shoot one scene at Sunrise before leaving for an outdoor schedule for @4moreshotspls. We wrapped the show that day. Left with a heavy but full heart. I love this team with all my heart. What a beautiful set of comrades/ collaborators. It all worked out. It always does.”
Reflecting on a significant week in her career, Sayani added, “This week we had the Aasmani World Premieres (2) and won two awards and Glory released today. Such a huge full circle. Hand in hand, step by step, we birth the show and my film together. Me, as an actor in one and creator in the other. Both such satisfying processes and both I am so grateful for. Life is full of surprises in the most magical ways.”
