Born to popular actors Amrita Singh and Nawab Saif Ali Khan, , Sara Ali Khan hails from two different families with different religious ideologies. However, the actress has always said that she gives equal importance to all faiths and is often seen following the rituals of Hinduism as well as Islam. However, netizens are often offended by this and in the past, she has also experienced severe criticism for her beliefs. However, an unfazed Sara maintained that she doesn’t care about people’s opinions when it comes to her personal life.

In an interview with Vogue, Sara Ali Khan confessed that she comes from a very secure place, and she doesn’t seek external validation. She said, “I learned that my sense of validation should not come from anything external, including the way I look. So, I grew up with qualities that were very innate, very inherent, very internal. And because they’re rooted in such a secure place inside me, I’m not fazed by other people’s opinions of me. At my core, I’m still the same girl that went to Columbia to study Russian history. I think having a strong sense of self and not defining myself by what people think of me is the only way to keep going.”

In the same breath, Sara also maintained that while she finds criticism about her work constructive, she often ignores the negative comments about her personal life. “I definitely appreciate any kind of criticism when it comes to my work. I work for the audience and if they don’t like my work, it behoves me to see what I can do better. But if they have an opinion on anything personal, whether it’s my religious beliefs, my sense of dressing or my non-blow-dried hair at the airport, I don’t care,” she added.

On the work front, Sara Ali Khan has some interesting projects in the pipeline including the historical drama Ae Watan Mere Watan, Murder Mubarak, and Metro In Dino.
