In an interview with Pinkvilla, Bhansali explained his spontaneous decision-making process. He mentioned, “Now, as the 4th, 5th, and 6th unfold, you’ll get to know, right now, I can’t speak. I really don’t know what I’ll make, when I’ll make it; it’s a very spontaneous decision.” This reflects his unique approach, where inspiration can strike at any moment, leading him to pivot between projects. “I’ll be making Gangubai and suddenly I put the script down and say ‘Ram Leela’. So, I’ll be suddenly making Inshallah, and I’ll say ‘No, Gangubai (Kathiawadi).’ So, I feel it’s about the inner calling of the filmmaker.”

Bhansali’s dedication to his craft is evident in his deep commitment to every project he undertakes. He emphasized, “Then I am full on onto the project, then I am into the film, and I am making it like it’s me, my soul has to survive, us kisam ki commitment! It’s with everything, so I can’t make a film with because it sounds good on the paper or it’s a good cast, it has to come from deep within to want to make the film.”

Looking ahead, Bhansali is working on Love & War, starring Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, and Vicky Kaushal, set for a Christmas 2025 release. In an interview with Galatta Plus, he described the filmmaking process as “spontaneous”, “erratic”, and “chaotic.” He revealed, “I have created a song for Love & War, and I don’t know where I’ll fit it in, but I have created it. And now I’ll find a way, and I know that song must be in the film, and without that song, the film would be incomplete.” This film reunites Bhansali with Ranbir Kapoor after 17 years and continues his successful collaboration with Alia Bhatt following Gangubai Kathiawadi.
