The actress who entered the industry at the age of 5 entertained the audience with her classic roles in films like Mother India, Raat Aur Din, Shree 420 among several others. She got married to actor Sunil Dutt in 1958 and had three kids including actor Sanjay Dutt.

Today, on her 91st birth anniversary, Sanjay Dutt shared a heartwarming video of the late actress calling her the best actress, best wife and the best mother. Reliving some of the most significant moments, the actor shared some of the photographs of his mother and his family from the archives while wishing her on her birth anniversary.
Sharing this special video, Sanjay Dutt wrote, “Happy Birthday Ma, miss you.”

Nargis won Filmfare Best Actress Award for Mother India in 1958 and the National Film Award for her role in Raat Aur Din in 1968. She was the first film actress conferred by the Government of India with the Padma Shri title, the fourth highest civilian award in 1958.
