Producer Deepak Mukut marked ten years of Sanam Teri Kasam with a reflective note on social media, revisiting the film’s journey from its original release to its eventual rediscovery by audiences. The romantic drama, starring Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane, was released in 2016 and later went on to gain strong recall following its theatrical re-release.
In his post, Mukut shared that his interest in filmmaking began at a young age, driven by the idea of enabling stories and setting projects in motion. Reflecting on his debut as a producer, he said he wanted to make a romance anchored in emotion.
“With my first film as a producer, I wanted to make a romance with a strong emotional core. My dream came true with Sanam Teri Kasam. It was the first labour of love under the banner Soham Rockstar Entertainment,” he wrote.
Mukut acknowledged that the film did not perform well at the box office upon its initial release, but said he always believed in its emotional strength. That belief, he noted, was validated years later when the film was re-released and went on to become the highest-grossing re-released Hindi film.
“While I had the satisfaction of having made the kind of film that I wanted, the love from the audience was what I was craving for,” he added.
Thanking the cast, crew and audiences, Mukut expressed gratitude to actors Harshvardhan Rane, Mawra Hocane, Vinay Sapru, Radhika Rao, Himesh Reshammiya and the entire team for helping him realise his vision. He described the film as his “first born” and thanked viewers for continuing to support it even a decade later.

Mukut also reiterated that the Sanam Teri Kasam story will continue. The sequel to the film was officially announced in 2024, a development that has kept interest around the franchise active.
