Salman Khan spoke his heart out during the group interaction held at a five-star hotel in Mumbai as part of promotions of Sikandar. In a rare instance, he opened up about handling finances and added that his parents always believed in spending money whole-heartedly for their family.

Salman added, “Humko paiso ki bahut zaroorat padti hai.” He further said that money comes in handy when he gets into legal trouble, “Mujhe toh jaana padta hai lawyers ke paas. Hence, they earn a lot. Also, a lot of my money goes into Being Human.”
Does he handle finances on his own or does someone else do it for him? Salman Khan replied, “I have just started signing cheques (smiles).”
He then narrated a hilarious incident, “In school, we used to get donation forms. We used to ask people to donate money for the blind, deaf and mute people. I used to make Xerox copies of these forms! Rajendra Kumar saab, Sunil Dutt saab and many producers used to come to our house. I used to go in front of them and ask for donations. They used to be like ‘Salim saab ke bete hai’ and they used to donate not just Rs. 10 but even Rs. 50 and Rs. 100! We used to earn Rs. 300-400 every quarter through this idea!”
Salman Khan continued, “Then one day I realized that yeh achhi baat nahin hai. This is when I decided to give it back to society.”
At the very beginning of the interaction, he was asked about the value of family and he gave a lovely answer with regards to his parents, that is, father Salim Khan and mother Salma Khan.
Salman began by saying, “My mother and father belonged to different cultures and religions. But the issue was not that my father was a Muslim while my mother was a Hindu. The problem was that ‘Yeh aadmi film industry ka hai’! My nana had a problem that he was from the film industry, not because of anything else.”
Salma Khan’s father didn’t have good relations with Salim Khan and Salma after marriage. Salman Khan continued, “It was when Sohail was born that (my nana and my father bonded). My nana loved my father so much that he said, ‘Meri life ki sabse badi galti yeh hui ki I wasted 5 years’.”
