Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, Hrithik Roshan – Big six and the young ones set to bring over Rs. 1500 cr for Bollywood in 2018

Just a month remains before 2017 comes to a close and while all eyes are on Tiger Zinda Hai to bring in big bucks at the Box Office, one waits to see if Padmavati makes it to theatres this year. Meanwhile, countdown has already begun to check out what does 2018 have to offer and as always, the Big Six of Bollywood are expected to strike hard.

Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, Hrithik Roshan – Big six and the young ones set to bring over Rs. 1500 cr for Bollywood in 2018

Between Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn and Hrithik Roshan along with the young ones like Varun Dhawan, Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor and Tiger Shroff, at least Rs. 1500 crore are expected to be accumulated at the Box Office and anything less than that would be an unpleasant surprise for sure. While some of them have multiple releases to their name, each one of them has at least one potential Rs. 100 crore film in the offering, at certain places even Rs. 200 crore or more, and that could well make 2018 one of the most exciting years of the decade.

Salman Khan - Race 3
Eid. Successful franchise. Action thriller. Salman Khan. There are many positives that are coming together to ensure that Race 3 turns out to be one of the most talked about films this Summer. It has been a wait indeed to check out what does third in the series have to offer and producer Ramesh Taurani has managed a casting coup by getting Salman Khan to head the show. Are we looking at a Rs. 200 crore success here?

Aamir Khan - Thugs of Hindostan
An Aamir Khan film is special and now that he is coming with an action drama which features him as a central protagonist, the curiosity is indeed high. Moreover, Dhoom 3 team of Yash Raj Films, Vijay Kishna Acharya and Katrina Kaif are joining hands with Aamir Khan for this adventurous saga that has Amitabh Bachchan in a pivotal role too, hence making Thugs of Hindostan a major Diwali big. Expects records again!

Akshay Kumar - PadMan, 2.0, Gold
Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar continues his prolific journey in theatres with as many as three releases this year. PadMan is set to arrive in a few weeks from now and should emerge as yet another realistic light hearted drama after Toilet - Ek Prem Katha. 2.0 is a biggie led by Rajinikanth and with Akshay in there, it becomes even bigger. As for Gold, it is a period sports based drama that features him in a different light.

Shah Rukh Khan - The Aanand L. Rai film
The first milestone for the film would be to reveal its title. The wait has been really long and the curiosity build up has been exciting too. Moreover, with Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma joining Shah Rukh Khan, the film emerges as the biggest ever for Aanand L. Rai. Given the sensibilities of the director and the all-around stardom that he has to his disposal, this one should emerge as a big draw on Christmas 2018.

Ajay Devgn - Total Dhamaal
Will it be time for some Total Dhamaal on Diwali 2018? Though there is no official word around it yet, rumors are already flying thick that Ajay Devgn is eyeing Diwali all over again after the blockbuster success of Golmaal Again. Traditionally, the actor has been winning his Diwali battles and even if he has come second, the numbers have always been high. He would be aiming to score all over again in next festive season.

Hrithik Roshan - Super 30
Super 30 may not be looking at a festive arrival but then with Hrithik Roshan in the lead, a good content is seemingly in the offering. A biopic that features the actor in a never before seen persona, it has been in news for a while now. Though Hrithik Roshan would be seen on the big screen almost 20 months after his last release Kaabil, one expects him to make the most of it with Super 30.

Varun Dhawan - October, Sui Dhaaga: Made in India
Varun Dhawan has a triple hat-trick to his name, what with nine straight successes ever since the release of Student of the Year. Now in 2018 he has two films coming up. Both films belong to different genre and one waits to see if he manages back to back Rs. 100 crore successes. While former is being directed by Shoojit Sircar, latter has him pair up with Anushka Sharma for what appears to be a romcom in the offering.

Ranveer Singh - The Rohit Shetty film
If Padmavati releases in 2018, Ranveer Singh definitely has a Rs. 100 crore+ affair in the offering. However, beyond that one waits to see if his next with Rohit Shetty arrives next year as well. Though an official news is yet to be rolled out, buzz in the industry circles is that the team is aiming for a Christmas arrival. Will it be Shah Rukh Khan v/s Ranveer Singh all over again after Dilwale v/s Bajirao Mastani? Sounds neat!

Ranbir Kapoor - Sanjay Dutt biopic
Ranbir Kapoor may have hit a roadblock with Jagga Jasoos but then he has an Ae Dil Hai Mushkil behind him. Now that he is all focused on the Sanjay Dutt biopic, the hype is already building in well. Other than Ranbir being the star attraction, the fact remains that Raj Kumar Hirani is at the helm of affairs and he has never put a foot wrong. Add to that the subject and there seems to be a big winner in hands.

Tiger Shroff – Baaghi 2, Student of the Year 2
Will Tiger Shroff be the dark horse of 2018 and deliver back to back Rs. 100 crore successes with his releases? Well, one can pretty much hope so, what with the young one featuring in two franchise affair. While Baaghi stays on to be his biggest grosser till date and is expected to turn bigger in the second part, latter has Karan Johar backing him up in a big way and ensuring that the film is hyped to the optimal. This year could indeed turn super special for Tiger Shroff.
