The sudden demise of actor Rahul Arunoday Banerjee has left the entertainment industry in deep shock, with many colleagues and admirers expressing grief over the tragic loss. Among them is veteran Bengali actress Rituparna Sengupta.
Reflecting her disbelief and pain, she told this writer, “Rahul the wonderful boy the beautiful soul is a soul now... How can human body turn into the soul so prematurely? The question is bothering and thrusting me for an answer. I am unable to grieve...grieving feels so impossible for someone who is not supposed to leave...Not so early. Why? Why? I question the entire universe…. The entire being of ours is an interrogation mark? What did Rahul do to leave us? Leave the entire kingdom of his legacy which he built himself with his blood and sweat? A visionary… A representative of an entire generation… A person with bubbling ideals and ideas… His strong observations… His obsession about creating so many things in so many ways. Why would he disappear in the thin air? Without any prior intimation… no sound no agony no announcements… We will not accept this, Rahul… We can’t accept you leaving like this. Can't see you deserting us so unkindly… Where was the need Rahhul? What was the hurry?”
Speaking about Rahul’s fighting spirit, Rituparna said, “The prolific talent what you are… Why did it all dissolve in those cruel waters… Who claimed you? Why will you vanquish without even roaring back… Where was your fight Rahul? You were always that warrior who braved all kinds of disruptive situations in your life. The most difficult phases… where you never paused… You stood up with all your might. You exploded like a canon!! It's a sorry state for our entire fraternity for all of us to lose you… to let go of you. You are that shining star who shone from inside… from your smile to your conversations you made others look brighter. Your wisdom shone like a star. Your insights gave fodder to the future generations.”
She ended her tribute saying, “Your positivity made others feel empathetic… Your sheer power of your personality made others feel empowered… where did you disappear to?... Leaving all of us searching for you? This sudden exit of yours… not accepted… you have left us empty… left us totally helpless, Rahul!”
