The much-awaited film Dhurandhar The Revenge was released yesterday and, as expected, has set the box office on fire. Under the ‘Special Thanks’ section in both Dhurandhar (2025) and Dhurandhar The Revenge, two names stood out - Shashi Kaushik and Nishant Kaushik. The former is the wife of the late Satish Kaushik, while the latter is his nephew.
It has come to light that it was Satish Kaushik who had the rights to the title of Dhurandhar. Actor-director Anupam Kher, who was a good friend of Satish Kaushik, revealed this trivia in a video that he posted after the release of Dhurandhar's first part.
In the video, Anupam Kher said, “Dhurandhar was a title which was with Satish Kaushik. I was very happy to read Shashi Kaushik's name in the acknowledgement. Toh mere dost Satish, tumhara naam bhi juda hua hai (with the film).”
Speaking of Dhurandhar The Revenge, it is the sequel to Dhurandhar (2025), which starred Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun and others. It tells the story of an Indian who infiltrates Pakistan and shakes the political and military system. The sequel takes his story forward and also focuses on what his life was like before he entered Pakistan.
Both parts of Dhurandhar are written and directed by Aditya Dhar and producer by Jyoti Deshpande of Jio Studios and Aditya Dhar and Lokesh Dhar of B62 Studios.
