Speaking about her beloved character Tina from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Mukerji recalled the moment filmmaker Karan Johar narrated the story to her. She said, "When Karan narrated the story to me, there was magic in the room. He was so sincere and honest." She added, "That film made me understand how the audience accepted me. The importance of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai in my life is immense."

Reflecting on the character’s enduring popularity, Mukerji noted, "In 30 years, Tina has resonated with every decade." Talking about Saathiya, the actor shared how the film resonated strongly with audiences, particularly young women at the time. "It was the story of a girl who stuck to what she wanted in life." She explained that the narrative struck a chord because it portrayed a woman who chose to pursue her career alongside her personal life.

Mukerji also revisited her performance in Hum Tum, highlighting how the character she portrayed contributed to changing perceptions of female characters in mainstream cinema. "It was a film that changed how women were viewed in cinema." She added, "The beauty of Riya was that she questioned Saif's character, was it a marriage out of guilt or a love marriage?"

Reflecting on Bunty Aur Babli, which she starred in alongside Abhishek Bachchan, Mukerji described it as one of her most enjoyable projects. "It was one of my favourite films that I've shot." She further pointed out, "It was the first time small towns were shown in mainstream Hindi cinema. Before that, it was all glamorous and international."

Among all her performances, Mukerji singled out Black, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, as a pivotal moment in her career. "I won't ever be able to recreate that magic." She further revealed, "I was in disbelief that Sanjay Leela Bhansali thought I could pull off a role like that." Reflecting on the deeper impact the film had on her, she added, "Black taught me to be grateful for everything we have in life."

Turning to the Mardaani franchise, Mukerji spoke about the real-life inspiration behind the films. "It came from the collective rage we all felt after the Nirbhaya case." She added, "It is special because we bring real cases and crimes to cinema to raise awareness." Emphasising the core theme behind the franchise, the actor concluded, "The film carries a message that every life counts."

As anticipation builds for Mardaani 3, Mukerji’s reflections serve as a reminder of the diverse and impactful roles that have defined her journey in Hindi cinema.
