Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has publicly expressed his admiration for the recently released teaser of Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, starring Ranveer Singh, while also seemingly commenting on the fate of the Yash-led film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups. Varma’s remarks have sparked online debate ahead of the scheduled March 19, 2026 release date, when both films are set to hit theatres.
On February 3, Varma took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the Dhurandhar 2 teaser from director Aditya Dhar’s official account and wrote: “This is not REVENGE, it’s @AdityaDharFilms RAMPAGE… I pity the ones who will come in its way. R I P.”

Although Varma did not mention Toxic by name in his post, many social media users interpreted the comment as a veiled reference to the Yash-starrer — especially given that Toxic is scheduled to release on the same day as Dhurandhar 2 and is anticipated to be part of a major box-office clash. Fans responded with comments such as “Write directly na… RIP Toxic” and “The Rampage will push any Toxicity to the sidelines.”
Dhurandhar 2, directed by Aditya Dhar and featuring a returning ensemble that includes Sara Arjun, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi and Sanjay Dutt, is a sequel to the 2025 action drama that became a major commercial success. The film will be released not only in Hindi but also in multiple South Indian languages.
Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, directed by Geetu Mohandas, stars Yash alongside Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria, Kyle Paul and Rukmini Vasanth. The film marks Yash’s first major release after the KGF franchise and has attracted significant anticipation.
