Rakul Preet Singh says meeting Shah Rukh Khan as a neighbour was a “welcoming” experience: “I told Jackky that in case a bulb is not working, send me”

Shah Rukh Khan has temporarily moved out of his iconic Mumbai residence Mannat as the bungalow undergoes extensive renovation. Until the work is completed, the actor has shifted to a four-floor apartment in Puja Casa, a property owned by producer Vashu Bhagnani. The apartment, valued at around Rs 8.5 crores, has reportedly been leased for a rent exceeding Rs 25 lakhs.

Rakul Preet Singh, who is married to Vashu Bhagnani’s son Jackky, also lives in a building named Puja Casa located close to the one currently occupied by Shah Rukh. Speaking to Siddharth Kannan, Rakul shared her excitement about having the superstar as a neighbour.

Calling herself a devoted fan of Shah Rukh, she recalled telling Jackky that she would be happy to help with anything the actor might need. “I am such a Shah Rukh sir fan that I told Jackky ki jab bhi kuch bhi karana ho ghar pe, unko kisi se baat karni ho, send me, I want to be there,” she said, laughing.

Rakul added that she was disappointed to miss the moment when Shah Rukh arrived at the building because she was shooting for De De Pyaar De 2. “I got very upset that Jackky went there by himself,” she said, recalling how her husband welcomed the actor in her absence.

She also joked about volunteering for the smallest tasks just for a chance to meet him. “I told Jackky that in case a bulb is not working, or there is an electricity issue, send me,” she said. Rakul eventually met Shah Rukh over dinner and described him as “extremely welcoming.”

Rakul Preet Singh’s latest release De De Pyaar De 2 is currently in cinemas nationwide. Shah Rukh Khan will next appear in Siddharth Anand’s King, slated for a 2026 release.
