Raj and DK are known for their quirky dramas, mostly based on crime. No matter what subject they explore, their stamp of quirkiness is unmissable in all their projects. The same is the case with their upcoming Amazon Prime Video show Farzi. This time, however, they have tried matching the quirkiness with the high scale of the production and for that, they shot the show. starring Shahid Kapoor and Vijay Sethupathi, in different cities of India and outside.
The show, which marks the OTT debut for Shahid, is about a crook who starts making counterfeit currency in large scale in order to become rich in a jiffy. He gets an obstacle in his path in the form of the cop, played by Sethupathi.
As per the makers, Farzi has been shot in Mumbai, Goa, Alibaug, Nepal, and Jordan. Sharing more about this strategy, a note from the makers read, “As all the cities are way different from each other in terms of their landscapes, we can only expect to see some really breath-taking and mesmerizing visuals in Farzi. Usually, web series do not explore shooting locations on such a huge scale considering the budget and time constraints, but Raj & DK are extremely committed to making this experience grander for the audience that they have never experienced on their OTT screens.”
Farzi is the next OTT project for Raj and DK after the two seasons of The Family Man, also on Amazon Prime Video. The response to that show, which starred Manoj Bajpayee in the titular role, has raised expectations from Farzi.
Farzi is also the first Hindi project for Vijay Sethupathi, who is a star down south. Also starring Raashii Khanna, Kay Kay Menon, Bhuvan Arora, Regina Cassandra, and Amol Palekar and produced by D2R films, Farzi will be streamed on Amazon Prime Video from February 10.
