Shortly after the monumental win, maestro AR Rahman, gracing the grand event, took to social media to share a joyous selfie with the members of Shakti – Shankar Mahadevan, Zakir Hussain, and V Selvaganesh. Rahman extended heartfelt congratulations to the Grammy winners, heralding the historic moment for Indian music.

Adding to the accolades, Zakir Hussain and flautist Rakesh Chaurasia clinched another coveted Grammy Award for Best Global Music Performance for their soul-stirring composition, ‘Pashto’ alongside Bela Fleck and Edgar Meyer, featuring Rakesh Chaurasia. Zakir won three Grammys in one night whereas Chaurasia secured two awards.
