Actor R Madhavan's son Vedaant has once again made his father proud. After having won seven medals at the 47th Junior National Aquatic Championships 2021 in Bengaluru last year, the 17-year-old swimmer broke the National Junior Record for the 1500 m freestyle at the Junior National Aquatics this year, which is being held at the Biju Patnaik Swimming Pool in the iconic Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar.

In the video, Vedaant can be seen quickly picking up pace to achieve a new feat. “Around 16 minutes, he has broken Advait’s record at the 780 m mark but he picked up his pace beautifully, I did not expect him to do it,” the commentator is heard saying, adding that they will get the official timing soon.
Vedaant clocked 16:01.73 to erase his state-mate Advait Page's record of 16:06.43 seconds which was created in the year 2017 and took home a gold medal.

Sharing the clip, Madhavan wrote, “Never say never. National Junior Record for 1500m freestyle broken,” and added several hearts, folded hands emojis to his post.
Vedaant is a professional swimmer and won a gold in swimming at the Danish Open 2022 in Copenhagen.
On the work front, R Madhavan was recently seen in Rocketry: The Nambi Effect. This marked his directorial debut as well.
