Priyanka Chopra thanks Lady Gaga for raising USD 127 million through the One World concert to fight Covid-19 127 : Bollywood News

Actor Priyanka Chopra, who has been on the front-line raising awareness around Covid-19 and raising funds globally, took to social media to laud the efforts of World Health Organisation (WHO) and Global Citizens for all their efforts and strategies to contain the spread of Coronavirus. She also thanked Lady Gaga for raising over USD 127 million for the aid of the needy across the world, through the One World Concert.

"As I watched with my family, the same as so many of you in the US, India, throughout Asia, Europe, Africa, and beyond, it gave me so much hope that inspite of all the hardship maybe we’ll all emerge from this kinder and more compassionate," she wrote.

She also thanked the essential service providers who are keeping us going across the globe. "Thank you @glblctzn and @ladygaga for your creativity and humanity, and congratulations on raising $127.9M for COVID-19 relief. To all the healthcare workers out there, essential workers and everyone who is working through this...thank you for fighting for us every single day. Thank you, thank you, thank you...humanity will forever be indebted," she added.

In the video shared by her, Priyanka is seen talking about what an undeniable impact the Covid-19 has left all over the world. She also shared how in dense refugee camps, people were having to live amid the most unlivable condition and how social distancing is only a dream at such places. “I have witnessed first-hand, some of the overcrowded, and unliveable conditions in refugee camps. Social distancing there is simply not an option. In order to curb the spread of COVID-19 in these specific communities, the needs are basic - healthcare, clean water, sanitation,” she is heard saying.

Over 70 artistes from all corners of the world had joined the One World concert. Besides Priyanka and Shah Rukh Khan, eminent names such as Jennifer Lopez, Lady Gaga, Madonna and Celine Dion performed.
