Priyanka Chopra reveals the EXACT moment on the day of her sangeet when she knew she was marrying ‘the man of her DREAMS’

Priyanka Chopra’s marriage to American star Nick Jonas was nothing short of a fairy-tale. The three-four day pre-wedding and wedding festivities was prominently covered by the media and was one of the biggest, if not the biggest shaadi of the industry in recent times. The last part of her memoir, ‘Unfinished’, mentions all the information about this part of her life in great detail. While much of it has already been talked about, there’s a not-so-known incident, which happened on the morning of her sangeet, that caught our attention.

Priyanka Chopra reveals that on the morning of November 30, 2018, two days before her wedding and on the day of her mehendi and sangeet ceremony, she faced a minor injury. She says that she was excited for the day and “danced my way to the shower”. Sadly, in the palatial bathroom at the Taj Umaid Bhavan Palace in Udaipur, she stepped down hard on a sharp two-inch piece of wood on the floor and it pierced through her heel. It obviously led to bleeding and an uncomfortable Priyanka couldn’t even make it outside the bathroom. So she sat on the bathroom floor and screamed the name of her assistant, Chanchal Dsouza, who was in the next room. Chanchal saw her sitting in the pool of blood and got scared. Priyanka told her to call Nick Jonas. Nick, too, was in the shower but he wrapped a towel, wore a T-shirt and ran to meet his to-be wife. And so did a security officer who heard the commotion and checked to see if all was well.

Though a doctor was on the way, Priyanka was getting impatient. So Nick quickly wore shorts and held her foot steady. He then pulled the ‘bloody spear’ out using a pair of tweezers. Priyanka Chopra, however, reveals that she remained mostly calm during the whole process as she had developed a threshold for pain “after years of enduring blistered feet through the never ending dance rehearsals and earning scars in complicated stunt sequences.” Nick was taken back as to how chilled she was and remarked, “This is my future wife. I am scared.”

At this point, Priyanka Chopra writes, “By making a joke about how tough I was and what that boded for him, he defused the situation, made us all laugh, and reminded me that all would be well because, (a) I am tough, and (b) I was marrying the man of my dreams.”

A few hours after this episode, Priyanka Chopra attended the mehendi function. At night, she danced at her sangeet wearing heels. She emphasizes, “Nothing – not even a wooden spike in my foot – was going to stop this from being the best damn party of my life.”
