Earlier today, the ‘fabulous’ Bollywood wives were seen celebrating the popular festival of Karwa Chauth where women fast for their husband’s long lives. Considering that the former beauty queen Priyanka Chopra hails from a quintessential Punjabi family, she followed the traditions of her community and fasted for her American husband Nick Jonas. If her social media post is anything to go by, its seems that the actress celebrated the festival as per Indian customs and traditions.

Priyanka Chopra, who is very active on Instagram, took to the platform to share a story about her Karwa Chauth celebrations with Nick Jonas in the US. The actress posted a photo of her wearing mehendi and the quintessential Punjabi chooda (set of red bangles) which are expected to be important ‘Suhaagan nishaaniyan’ (signs of being a married woman) as per Indian customs. It is not the first time where the actress shared about her Karwa Chauth celebrations. In the past, PC has given a glimpse of the festivities with the actress also sporting a red saree which is considered auspicious for the occasion.

Earlier today, from Sunita Kapoor to Maheep Kapoor, Neelam Kothari, Bhavana Pandey, Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Raveena Tandon, among others were seen celebrating the festival together. For the uninitiated Karwa Chauth is celebrated for a husband’s long life with wife fasting for him without a drop of water or any food until sunset. In many cases, to reciprocate love of their partner, many husbands also follow this ritual.

Priyanka Chopra is currently enjoying motherhood after welcoming her first child with Nick Jonas via surrogacy earlier this year. On the work front, she has the Amazon Prime sci-fi drama Citadel along with some Hollywood films and Bollywood ventures in the pipeline.
