Actress Priyamani shared insights into her relationship with her cousin, Bollywood star Vidya Balan. Despite being second cousins whose grandfathers were brothers the two have never been particularly close.
In a candid conversation with CNN-News18, Priyamani revealed, “We have never been on talking terms in that way, even though we are related. But I do speak more with her father. Balan uncle is in regular touch with me, and if he can’t reach me, he calls my father and they talk.”
Despite the distance in their personal relationship, Priyamani holds deep admiration for Vidya's professional achievements. She described, “Vidya Balan is a phenomenal actor; the mutual admiration is always there. I can’t wait for her to come back on screen. As an audience member, I really miss the powerful actor that she is.”
Vidya Balan was last seen in the 2024 horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, directed by Anees Bazmee, which was a massive box office success. Fans are eagerly awaiting her next project, though no official announcements have been made yet.
Meanwhile, Priyamani continues to make strides in her career. She was recently seen in the Malayalam action thriller Officer on Duty, starring Kunchacko Boban. Her upcoming project includes Jana Nayagan, directed by H. Vinoth, alongside Vijay, Pooja Hegde, and Bobby Deol. The film is slated for a January 2026 release and is anticipated to be Vijay’s final movie before he enters politics.
Additionally, Priyamani is set to return to the digital space with The Family Man Season 3, alongside Manoj Bajpayee, Sharib Hashmi, and Jaideep Ahlawat. The new season is expected to release in November 2025, with fans already buzzing about her next appearance as Suchitra Tiwari.
