Prajakta Koli says “stop freaking out about the future” in honest chat on dreams, fear, and self-belief

The actress and digital creator opens up about embracing uncertainty, learning on the job, and why dreaming is her “favourite hobby.”

Actor and digital creator Prajakta Koli recently shared an inspiring and deeply relatable conversation with Dose of Society, a media platform that celebrates raw human emotions and stories. In the brief yet heartfelt interview, the Mismatched star reflected on her journey of self-discovery, the importance of embracing uncertainty, and how she learned to stop letting fear control her path.

When asked what advice she would give to her younger self, Prajakta said, “Stop freaking out about it so much. I grew up as a child who kind of wanted to know everything about the future. I wanted to plan everything for myself. And when I do that, I kind of end up blocking a lot of possibilities. So I would tell her to not be a roadblock in her own life.”

The actress admitted that despite her early tendency to over-plan, life took her in an unexpected direction. “I went ahead and began working as a creator where I had absolutely no clue what I was doing and I kind of learned everything on the job. It’s quite ironic how that turned out,” she said with a laugh, adding, “I love my job. I genuinely do. It helps me fulfill dreams. I’m motivated by my community.”

Opening up about the moments when she has had to remind herself of that same advice, Prajakta described her career as “a roller coaster.” She said, “Every time I kind of pivoted to something new, I felt so much uncertainty. Those were the moments where I had to tell myself that it’s okay to not know and it’s okay to try new things.”

When asked how she deals with the worst-case scenarios, Prajakta responded with her trademark honesty. “A lot of times I’m not very bright. Like a lot of times I’m not getting into things very informed and I like to keep it that way because then I don’t freak myself out too much. Some days get tougher but I know that it’s always going to end well.”

As for her advice to those who struggle to dream, she said warmly, “There are people who don’t know how to dream. Oh my god. It’s my favorite hobby. You should really try it sometime. It doesn’t have to make sense to anybody but you.”

Prajakta, who recently went viral for her cameo in Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, where she reunited with her Mismatched co-star Rohit Saraf, continues to charm audiences both on screen and online. Her growing list of popular works includes JugJugg Jeeyo, Neeyat, and the hit Netflix series Mismatched.
