Actress Pooja Hegde has come out in strong support of the Indian men’s hockey team, often called the ‘Men in Blue’, who have a legendary status in hockey. They were unbeatable at the Olympics for many years, winning eight gold medals between 1928 and 1980, and at one point, they didn’t lose a single Olympic game for 32 years. While there always seem to be a unique connection between films and sports with personas from these walks of life often cheering for each other, among them was Pooja Hegde who decided to share her support towards the hockey players.

Pooja Hegde took to her Instagram stories to cheer for the team and penned an inspiring note rooting for the country’s team. She wrote, "Heartbreaking we didn't make it to the finals but what an INCREDIBLE team. They aggressively fought till the end, pushing hard, playing so well…I guess it wasn't their day. But what a game of hockey. Thank you for inspiring us." Pooja's heartfelt message resonated with many fans who are hopeful of the success of the team in the upcoming Bronze medal match.

For the unversed, speaking about the Olympics championship, despite their impressive history, the Indian men's hockey team suffered a 2-3 defeat to Germany in the semi-final at the Paris Olympics. They will now fight for the bronze medal against Spain. The Germany vs Netherlands final will take place on August 8 (Thursday), with India competing for the bronze against Spain on the same day.

Coming to Pooja Hegde, on the work front, the actress is gearing up for the release of the action entertainer Deva which will feature Shahid Kapoor in the role of a cop and it is slated to release this year. Besides that, the actress will also be seen opposite Suriya in his untitled pan India entertainer, which is currently being referred to as Suriya44.
