Pan-India star Rakul Preet Singh has an interesting line-up. While the releases of her next titled Doctor G and Thank You are around the corner, she will also be seen in Chhatriwali. For the unversed, Doctor G revolves around a male gynaecologist and Chhatriwali is about a woman working in a condom factory.

As both upcoming films deal with a taboo subject, it is no less than a risk to become the lead face of such projects. Recently, while talking about the same, Rakul revealed the reaction of her parents when they got to know about Doctor G and Chhatriwali. In an interview with Pinkvilla, Singh extensively discussed the subjects of Doctor G and Chhatriwali and how her parents perceive it.

“It’s just unfortunate that we sort of have that taboo but as per statistics some of the best gynaecologists in the country are male doctors. And why do we have to look differently at a reproductive organ than your heart, your brain, or other systems in your body. You know it’s a doctor’s job to treat you. Now how does it matter if the doctor is a male or a female, and that’s the conversation we are trying to have,” said the Attack actress.

Continuing further, the De De Pyaar De actress further added, “And my parents thought it was a great idea. I can watch anything with my parents now…whether it is Chhatriwali, where the girl works in a condom factory. The topics might be new but the films are not non-family films. They are all family films. They are all films that you can watch with everybody.

Concluding her conversation, the 32-year-old actress asserted, “There is nothing sleazy about these films. There is not one scene or one dialogue that will make you cringe or feel uncomfortable. So that is the beauty of making a film for a larger audience.”

While Doctor G is slated to release on October 14, the makers of Chhatriwali have not confirmed the release date of the film yet.
