As the 91st Academy Awards, 2019 transpired at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California, there was an undeniable air of frenzy, excitement and energy. The revered red carpet witnessed some of the most stunning moments from the elite invitees who dazzled the world audiences after hours of prepping. This time, pantsuits, shimmer, pink and an overload of chunky jewellery ruled the roost. As one of the most prestigious red carpets where styles are immortalized and spoken about at lengths, right from fashion pundits, bloggers, and media to the fashion-conscious masses, making just the perfect red carpet impression is an art mastered by a few and blundered by many. With fashion attaining a new high every season, eminent luxe designers flaunt their latest collections with the stars playing the modest muses.

Crazy Rich Asians star and British actor Gemma Chan channelled a pretty pink vibe with a Maison Valentino voluminous gown, Jimmy Chooi heels and a Bulgari clutch. A sleek updo and subtle makeup rounded out her affair with the bright hue.

Dame Helen Mirren too showed off hues of pink and red with a diamond choker, slick hair and subtle makeup.

Best actress winner Olivia Colman for The Favorite chose the unconventional but regal deep emerald green with a generous drape of black. Delicate jewellery and subtle makeup along with a slick hairdo rounded out her look.

The Favourite star and nominee for Best Supporting Actress, Emma Stone opted for a sleek power dressing vibe with shoulder pads. The shimmery gown was complemented by a slick low ponytail and minima makeup.

The Favourite counterpart and nominee for Best Supporting Actress, Rachel Weisz wore a red latex dress by Givenchy. She complimented her look with a headband, sleek hair, a red clutch and nude makeup.

Oscar winner Mahershala Ali posed with his wife Amatus Sami-Karim, wearing a beanie hat and glasses.

Melissa McCarthy, nominated in the Best Actress category for her part in Can You Ever Forgive Me? channeled a monochrome vibe with a white cape.

Best Actress nominee Glenn Close went for gold revealed on the red carpet that her outfit weighed 42lb (19kg).

Amy Adams nominated for her role in Vice, looked lovely in an art deco style dress with wavy hair and radiant smile.

Lady Gaga, dressed in all-black blew a kiss to photographers in a pose - signature of Marilyn Monroe. Gaga opted for an Audrey Hepburn styled jewellery- a diamond necklace.

Black Panther's Chadwick Boseman wore a sequined jacket.
