Dissatisfaction on Set

In a recent interview on Siddharth Kannan's YouTube channel, Nikitin revealed a "very bad experience" on Jodhaa Akbar. He asserted, “As an artist, I didn’t have fun working on the film. It was a very bad experience for me, to the point that I told my father that I’d entered the wrong line and that I’d rethink my life.”

He addressed rumors suggesting director Ashutosh Gowariker was upset with him for signing another project (Mission Istanbul) before Jodhaa Akbar's release. Dheer stated that his experience on the film nearly led him to quit acting altogether. He contrasted it with the positive experience he had on Mission Istanbul.

Nikitin’s Frustrations

Dheer detailed his dedication to the role.  He underwent physical training, mastered Urdu for the film, and reportedly shot for over 100 days. He recounted a specific instance where he flew back from Istanbul to dub his lines, only to be informed on the third day that his part would be dubbed by someone else. This, along with other undisclosed events, left him feeling disrespected and frustrated.

Signing Mission Istanbul Not the Cause

The actor refuted the rumors about Ashutosh being upset with him taking on Mission Istanbul. He clarified, “I changed my look after finishing work on Jodhaa Akbar, and I started shooting for Mission Istanbul only after I was done with Jodhaa Akbar, so I haven’t heard this theory before. It’s important for an actor to keep moving from film to film, especially if you’re the villain, because there are no guarantees.”

Performance Limitations

He hinted at limitations placed on his performance in Jodhaa Akbar. He stated that there were significant discrepancies between his initial expectations and the actual filming experience.
