Netflix has announced Family Business as part of its content slate unveiled on February 3, introducing a gripping corporate drama helmed by Hansal Mehta. Headlined by Anil Kapoor and Vijay Varma, the series promises an intense exploration of power, inheritance, and fractured loyalties within one of India’s most influential business families.
Set in the high-pressure world of corporate dynasties, Family Business follows a visionary billionaire who handpicks and mentors a rising tycoon to succeed him as the head of India’s largest conglomerate. However, months into the successor’s tenure, he is abruptly removed from the position as the mentor reclaims control. What follows is a fierce retaliation, as the ousted successor refuses to accept defeat and launches a counterattack, turning a corporate transition into an all-out war. As buried secrets come to light and alliances begin to crumble, the battle for control threatens to tear apart a respected business empire, revealing how questions of legacy and bloodlines can quickly become deeply personal.

The series is created by Hansal Mehta and Niren Bhatt, with Mehta also serving as director. The story is penned by Deepali Gupta, while the adapted story, screenplay, and dialogues are written by Niren Bhatt, Ankur Pathak, and Nikhil Nair. Family Business is produced by Abundantia Entertainment and True Story Films, with Vikram Malhotra and Hansal Mehta on board as executive producers.
Alongside Anil Kapoor and Vijay Varma, the show features a substantial ensemble cast including Akash Khurana, Rhea Chakraborty, Neha Dhupia, Anant Nag, Kanwaljit Singh, Dhruv Sehgal, Nandish Sandhu, Tina Desai, Rohan Mehra, Kamal Sadanah, Raima Sen, Inayat Sood, and Madhoo Shah. The series also marks Rhea Chakraborty’s return to acting after a five-year gap.
